fun voting fact and left over pumpkin seeds

I vote... you should too. In Australia, voting is compulsory... which is hands down one of my favorite topics when it comes to bragging rights of Australian citizenship. I love being part of a society where they force you to vote. You can skip out but if you get caught you cop a fine or (in rare instances) chucked in the clanger for a few days to learn you a lesson. Bet your ass I vote absentee from my land across seas and had no problem rocking...

13 weeks til motion time

In 13 weeks I've got a ticket back to Australia. Rather than count days I'm counting words and pages at the moment finishing 10 000 words here or 30 pages there. The whole Friday night to Saturday night thing (30-31st) AND the fact that daylight savings got set back adding an EXTRA HOUR onto Halloween... who could ask for more? Seriously. Last night was a Wild West themed pow wow at my sister's... since myself and the one other indigenous American in residence...

family

I consider every human being my family... as hippy-esque as this might sound. At 31 years old, you can't change who you are. Putting this aside, we're still born into a particular circle. This time around my circle contains a Sicilian/Polish mother whose grandparents are literally straight off the boat and a German/Pommy dad whose family is a bit more of a mystery... but it's safe to say, we're generic Yanks... a European mix with interesting...
