two weeks later… pascal

So my mini “corona chronicles” rant didn’t get too far. I reckon most of us are hearing too much about the shit. We’re all living it now, so ranting seems frivolous.

I’ve spent the last two weeks in regular contact with my New York City people and continue to connect with them daily. What happened is a disgrace, dooming and glooming over it here won’t help me or anyone else. I can only imagine what one of my favourite boyfriends from Italy must be going through.

It’s completely ironic that prior to the world having to jump into quarantine mode I had already isolated myself. Rather than let global chaos infringe on us by what I believe is a manmade virus and product of biological warfare; I travelled north to the Sunshine Coast to pick up the newest addition to my family.

His name is Pascal in honour of Easter approaching. He was originally coming home on Good Friday, but since no one is really supposed to be on the roads, I picked him up a week early and was back to my quarters by 10am.

In addition to introducing Pascal to the puppies, I’ve been spending a lot of time in my garden. Passion fruit are going crazy and I’ve finally started a little veggie patch.

I don’t plan on being in this house any longer than 12 months (that would be commitment for these gypsy toes); so I’m making a point to enjoy my lovely yard and beautiful lawn in the meantime.

I hope you’re all safe. I suggest staying inside. Perhaps, consider taking up writing for the next few months… it’s always seemed to work for me.

and then i was in nyc

I decided ten days ago Manhattan was calling. I had been in a fairly shit mood for like two weeks and I needed a quick fix.

So last Friday, I hopped on a plane and am currently hibernating amongst chilly treetops and windy street blocks.

Since I left Manhattan to go back to Australia in June 2018, I’ve been freelancing.

The dopest thing about being a freelance Writer is setting yourself up to work a month, have a month to yourself, work a month, play for a month… or more. Sometimes two months. Sometimes three.

It’s not the most financially lucrative way of living, but swinging it has been a blessing. And if I hadn’t spent eight years slaying as a word nerd in Manhattan, I don’t reckon I would have been able to work my career quite same way.

That said, I recently met some friends that run a business in the Phillipines who would be very keen to snatch up a full-time Writer. There aren’t actually that many of us around. I mean, anyone can write and should write… the professional game gets a bit different.

I’m going to hide out in the city with trips to the sticks until Friday week. This is the third time I’ve been able to get from Australia to the city in the past three months.

When I fired this page up ten years ago, I could barely afford flying one way…

I’m still feeling quite internal but the feeling is where I connect to what’s around me. It blows my mind I updated this page every day for over five years.

A lot changes in five years. Even more changes in ten.

Like I nodded to in my Jeffree Star mention, I’m kind of shocked by online behaviours these days. I can honestly say if the same amount of internet hate was getting slung around ten years ago, I probably wouldn’t have built this blahg.

I really love connecting with like-minded tribal members and enjoy spending time with beautiful people. I’m away from glowing screens as much as I can be. These days I turn my phone off for open-ended periods of time and stay away from computers as much as I can.

I guess I’ve come back to who I was before I dipped into FollowMeToNYC. An enhanced version, naturally. I believe women are like wine.

I’m going to go pour more blue ink into my black leather book. I hope you are all happy, healthy and beaming. I’m really trying to change back to daily posts, but I’ve been trying for a couple years now. I’m onto new art projects that I’ll share as they unravel. But best believe, my gypsy bounce has never been springier.

but it’s ok…

mood AF. ode to bey.

Tonight, and this weekend in general, I’ve been like (af)…

My sincere apologies for officially becoming the whack blah-ger who isn’t here on the daily. It’s not that my thoughts and energy aren’t excited about rounding out the whole Australia to Manhattan back to Australia circle, girl – it just takes a lot of bloody work.

Fortunately, as a light working species on this planet…

I totally got this.

I spent the St Paddy’s holiday weekend feeding boys corned beef and plotting, scheming, etc. In midtown, of course. April is set to be my last full month in the states. As a never say never’er… I’m sitting mad tight for like six weeks.

“We can skip small talk, let’s get right to the chase.”

The puppies are like 87% clear of the great Aussie exodus. Two babies, one Spanish viking, a few notebooks and some cASH.

“Tell me something, where your boss at? The ladies up in here, they like to talk back.”

In closing – I love that Bey is touring with her man but the objectification of women on Earth continues to distract me sometimes, as much as I endeavor to avoid screens.

We all know Bey is completely hotter than her man, but somehow what he’s doing gets more attention. God bless the tour.

Anyways, also… Krishna Das:

stay blessed give blessings.

Throughout the years I’ve been ranting words in the realm of FollowMeToNYC, Artist and Style have been two significant themes. (more…)
