pausing. puppies. panting.

Move is paused cult collective. FollowMeToNYC headquarters will not relocate until September, which means the puppies’s arrival is also postponed.

Not talking about that one. Unfortunately, my wanky landlord seems to have forgotten every syllable spoken between us.

So the move is paused. Puppies are resting up another eight weeks before their journey across international waters.

Usually, these are the bits of life that make me want to break things. However I must say, upon the arrival of Mr. Tim, my husband of 53 days now – a reinvented calmness is learning me a thing or two. I don’t really want to break things anymore.

I sort of just want to spend every single second knocking about with him.

Yesterday was the first day I’ve had off from a day job in nine months. About five of my past nine months were essentially MessVille.

When I found myself panting Sunday evening, I knew I needed a break.

I’m going to write books this week amongst a report and a few letters. Something about Tim furthermore has me actually desiring to finish novel number one.

Something about knowing who my first novel will be dedicated to is oddly soothing. It makes the ride toward completion much more magnificent – even when I am hissing at files and leering at keys.

moving. tools. puppies.

Namaste blog tribe, I hope you all had a weekend of wonderful.

My weekend was a bit crazy involving landlords and counting, a bit of writing and some nail biting.

I’m moving in four weeks… the puppies should be here in five.

You know those crazy times when things get so hectic that somehow the world becomes ineffably still? I think I’m in another one of those…

An interesting twist to my move is that I have no furniture. Living overseas for ten years and moving back to the opposite side of the planet does that.

There are tools in my house which has not occurred since I lived home with my parents over a decade ago. My father has a garage filled with such gadgets. There’s something comforting about a pile of metal build-things pieces tucked snugly in the corner of my tiny apartment.

My new apartment will be quite tiny too, this is Manhattan after all… and let’s face it, I’m poor. But it can accommodate puppies. The idea of this gets me so excited my teeth chatter.

While I have enjoyed my stint living in a luxury high-rise in midtown, I’m looking forward to shifting to a place where I might actually sit still for – I don’t know, twelve months straight perhaps? Once I move, it will be the first time since I fired up this blog that I haven’t been looking for a new house or a new job.

Tick tock tick…

uptown etc

Tim and I were approved for a puppy-loving, one-bedroom apartment across the street from the forest uptown.

WILDLY EXCITED! I’m betting on Henry and Peanut arriving by mid-July.

Sweet JESUS!

Naturally, my landlord is being a tosser which should come as no surprise reflecting on my history with property agents and what not. But positive thoughts and perseverance do wonders, I reckon.

Speaking of which, there are a few books I am knocking around at the moment that involve novel and poetry… things occurring and what not.

While I was visiting my parents’ over the weekend, my mother commented that I always speak in questions. I never really noticed before, but I think she might be correct.

Now that summer in New York City has officially arrived, I will be barefoot as much as possible. My toes will be painted an assortment of colors. And the Jersey Shore is bound to happen at some stage.

In other news, I am madly in love with my husband and still not too concerned with undue reactions. I am, however, very concerned with the different shades of amber that Tim’s eyes burn depending on weather and sentiment. He keeps me all sorts of entranced.

i love you blog family

Namaste blog tribe

Please forgive the last few silent days. While just a few months back I landed in my current residence, as I mentioned a few days ago… it’s move time. Inwood or bust.

New apartment = puppies arrival. And since Richard Branson weaked out and clearly isn’t going to help me out, it appears I’m on my own with this one.

So to be true, for the past four days I have thought nothing but “APARTMENT!” I don’t have any money to move… but I’m optimistic. Regardless of the role I understand karma to play in living a life, I still believe that some things are simply certain. Like the puppies getting here pronto.

I’m negotiating with the Universe for a July 1 move.

While APARTMENT is the main thing on my mind, I’ve also spent most hours of late pondering¬†someone exquisite; what’s happening with my writing; and what the purpose of life is (put simply).

And of course I thought about the land of FollowMeToNYC and how amazing it is that I am able to talk to a global crowd on a daily basis. A group that’s grown by over 100 new daily lovers clicking in compared to this time last year. I guess when I realized that, the anxiety attack that came with it send me hiding for a few days.

Hooray for being back! Happy Monday all, and here’s to a week of wonderful.

one day you’re certain

Namaste cult of blog

In case you don’t notice… I have been obsessed with The Reign of Kindo for three days now. Two tracks in particular. Tim put me on. There on the right. He’s an amazing driver / photographer / etc and the pair of us attract a slew of questions lately.

and still they keep dancing on
just as though you don’t have a say.
and the choice of routine or song
isn’t better that way.
this what happens when
you realize you’re not in control.
some days you’ll bear the load
and others you won’t. (more…)
