tis the solstice season

My solstice season has involved hiding inside houses scented with balsam pine candles; guzzling whiskeyIMG_0231 egg nog with various family members; and eating chocolate macaroons with hot cinnamon coffee (no sugar thanks).

I’ve also given myself back pats for being able to hang outside beneath the winter sky when it was 15/-9 degrees. To some people around here these are simply ‘brisk’ weather conditions… as someone out of the game seven years… I like to think I can still hang.

New Years Eve is both a full moon and a blue moon. Considering the odds of this… I’m thinking I should perform some sort of ritual. It only seems appropriate seeing that I’m not even sure when I’ll be in the States next for another New Years. Having done NYC in the past… I am looking very forward to a New Years Eve bash with a collection of my favorite people.

IMG_0262If anyone has any ideas of a ritual to be performed that might be helpful, feel free to suggest one here. Otherwise I’ll be on my own to figure it out… and it’s much more fun when people make ritual recommendations… what are friends for after all?
