IMG_2519She won… of course she won…

It feels like yesterday that I was stomping the streets of Berlin with one of my favorite people in the world, the one and only – Ms. Rijn Collins. Whether we’re having French food cocktail nights in the western suburbs of Melbourne or clinking celebratory cocktails at the Waldorf Astoria on Park Avenue, as we did yesterday, there are no words to encompass my love for this woman.

So, as you can imagine – her recent receiving of a Sara Award for the radio version of her wonderful story Almost Flamboyant┬áhad us champagne toasting in my midtown Writer’s cave and squeezing IMG_2491each other with “Ok, we don’t say goodbye after this, we say ‘see you in June’,” for the past four days.

New York City has offered me all of the wonder I could have ever wished for. And she even manifested an amazing opportunity that whisked a piece of my family in Australia unexpectedly back to me to celebrate her art together.

Over the coming months, it will be time for me to once again pack my two bags, two puppies and soar back around the world to settle on my enormous island in the south pacific. For now, I’m just blessed to have experienced such a perfect time with not only one of my best friends, one of the best Writers I know.

Congratulations again to my dearest Rijn, that’s my girl.
