foreign geopolitics

this town makes you
tough. thick skinned mask
melting rationality in exchange
for how cold you can be.
how hard you are
trying to meet media
standards. advertised ideals
to your diminishing identity,
and you don’t know
i hold tears
to prevent you from
falling. downward stumble
proving fear’s tucked in
borders of this world.
frightening.
closed caption for socially impaired,
self-righteous, self-centered, pill
popping citizens. only we
aren’t like that. don’t compare
individuality of addiction.
compassion of capitalism.
i could make you
a list of contradictions.
vary. uncool.
without knowing
geography, best-sellers, in
crowds. don’t show shoulders
retracting toward a heart,
mapping the route
of a forgotten way
to another state.
